Using the Goccles clip with wide-angle camera smartphones.

The Goccles kit includes a smartphone clip fitted with the same optical filter as the eyewear, allowing you to photograph lesions under autofluorescence. The clip is compatible with most smartphones, but with the latest models — equipped with multiple cameras and ultra-wide-angle lenses (such as iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 15 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S21, S22, S23 and S24 Ultra, or Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra) — some doubt may arise as to where the clip should be correctly positioned.

In these cases, once the clip is applied to a lens, the phone may automatically switch camera as soon as you move closer to the patient’s mouth, shifting for example to the macro or ultra-wide-angle lens. This automatic switch can compromise the correct capture of the autofluorescence image.
